The Greatest Comeback of the Century

Thank you for sticking around. While I’ve been terribly not posting, I’m more than ever fired up about our mission and working on it 24/7. Sometimes I don’t even sleep I got so much fire.

I was taking it all in after everything. I see it as my heart just trying to make sense of everything. When the good news came, I was so giddy. But also for some reason it felt like a huge wave? The peace was really weird.

These moments take me back to when I was a kid, Tamika Catchings was my idol. I’d watch her play and just be glued. I admired her game, I didn’t know it yet, but she showed me that being good at something is just part of it, but being a good person was the true legacy. And I’ll never forget that time her sister told me I could ball man! My sister and her friend renovated my room decked out in Fever basketball. And, I got my shoe signed by Tamika. Funny story, I got brand new LeBrons stolen out of my locker at this tournament, but this signed shoe, it stays in my speciality shoe case. Talk about a throwback!

Because of her, when I was 10 in 5th grade, I started planning an organization to build basketball courts for kids who needed them, and for kids with special needs. I made countless Google Slides, presented them to my family and friends, and I also contacted some places. Maybe one day I can dig those up! Back then, it was just something I loved. I know, kinda weird. I kinda felt a little embarrassed about it back then. But now, that’s my compass.

When things get lost in the sauce, I think of Tamika Catchings, how she got fired up to dream big, I remind myself of baby me, and remember that this is my longest aspiration. These hardships I’ve faced are allowing me to follow my dreams. It’s a precious gift.

Additionally, as you might have noticed, I’ve changed things up a bit here. Just vibes! I keep getting called “Kamchowwww,” man! It’s my stage name, my brand. Kamchow.  mic drop

Thank you for reading my ramblings, and for embracing the chaos. You could be reading Niki Hardy or JK Rowling, but you’re here reading Kamchow. That says how nice you are.

I tend to figure out that the windiest roads lead to the most beautiful, epic destinations, and maybe this will be one of them. Just thinking about the time we took directions from a local and went up a crazy sketchy mountain during a tornado, almost fell off a cliff but we ended up seeing the most outrageous sights. As the genius Jon Kabar-Zinn once wisely said: You can’t stop the waves but you can learn to surf

Surf them waves baby,

Kam
