So, the other day was awesome. My sister asked me to help do a marketplace drop off. For hours she said, the buyers “on their way.” My inner skeptic was going on. On his way for hours! Though she insisted, he’ll be here any minute! Gotta love my sis, I wasn’t letting her do this solo.
A car pulls up. I head out to open the door. Out steps a dude with flowers and all smiles. “Hi Kam!” I was like are we about to be kidnapped in a heartwarming way? Turns out, there wasn’t any buyer.
Bobby’s on a mission unlike any other. He is driving across North America on his tour called the “Smiles from Nowhere” tour. He visits each state and does a random act of kindness. I’m so lucky my state included me.
He has a heart of gold that shines despite facing tough stuff. His dad passed away when he was young, and recently he lost his amazing mom, “Momma Jackson.” Spreading joy was who she was. Her favorite way to bring happiness was feeding people.
Her dream was for Bobby to travel the world and soak up life. So he decided to get in her car and do it. He’s honoring his mom beautifully and seeing him carry on his mom’s legacy by spreading kindness is crazy inspiring. Bobby’s lives in Australia and owns a bagel shop and a whiskey company… so cool.
Bobby went to school with my great cousin and is friends with my Super Great Aunt Nancy and she set this whole thing up. I’m so grateful for Super Great Aunt Nancy.
He also has his family by his side. He has a Go Fund Me to gift each person. They sponsor a person in each state and gift them. Aunt Donna and Aunt Shurlee sponsored me. I treated my visiting cousin and family to a special dinner, and that is a memory we’ll all treasure. Their kindness meant the world to us and the fact that it came from Aunt Donna and Aunt Shurlee made it all the cooler.
Bobby’s random act for me was so special from simply spreading a little sunshine. Thank you for inspiring me. It’s inspired me to spread joy in the world like Bobby does. Seeing him spreading kindness with his family by his side was incredibly inspiring. Here’s to Super Great Aunt Nancy for bringing us together, to Bobby and his family for bringing sunshine into my life, and to the power of random acts of kindness. And I think a little bit of Momma Jackson’s spirit now lives in me too.
He’s traveling across the entire US in his car, just spreading smiles! That’s so awesome. I had to call Super Great Aunt Nancy and tell her how awesome this is. Now, I gotta go plan my trip to Australia… Thank you Bobby!
