First Descents is a non-profit organization that takes young adults impacted from illnesses such as MS or cancer on beautiful outdoor adventures to foster healing and connection through the great outdoors.

First Descents
From 2017 to 2023, Dad, Brian dedicated his Leadville ride to First Descents to share his love for the bike and his passion of helping others.
Well little did we know just 5 months after his race in 2023, I would get diagnosed and become the cancer patient he was riding for.
Having First Descents there during my treatment was a gift. It is something I hope everyone can have going through their own health experience journey. The opportunity to connect with others who truly understand, and go on an adventure like surfing the Outer Banks honestly filled my love bucket with hope. I realized that I was far from alone. Organizations like team FD are why I feel optimistic about my journey and I feel strongly that it is my purpose through this blog to share my experience for others.
I watched Dad ride for team FD in 2024, I had a new perspective on Leadville and team FD and, I think he might’ve too. These people freakin inspired me.
These trips are only made possible through the support of the community. And I’m determined to support FD so everyone has the same opportunity I do.
My Dad is indulging himself in this in 2025 and our goal is to raise as much money as possible.
